In November 2023, heavy rainfall in Far North Queensland caused the Barron River to flood, impacting over 20 dwellings at Cairns Airport and its surrounds with up to 500mm of water. Tango Projects established systems and processes for rectification, managing contractors, scopes, equipment, reporting, and moisture monitoring. Challenges included managing asbestos within existing structures, rapid mould growth due to heat and humidity, and coordinating works within occupied buildings requiring temporary relocation.
