Great Barrier Reef Arena

We were excited to attend the community launch of the Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay, QLD over the weekend.

Jointly funded by the State and Federal Governments, Harrup Park and the Mackay Cricket Club, the GBRA is a community sports and broadcasting venue, boasting some of the best regional cricket and AFL – Australian Football League facilities in Australia.

Tango has led the project since the masterplan stage, ensuring the elite sports and broadcasting requirements were delivered successfully, whilst also driving a focus on community engagement and involvement.

Further to our role as Project Manager, we are proud to have implemented a scheme allowing for consultants and contractors on the project to purchase mature trees for planting around the venue. With the goal of providing enhanced shade for visitors and enabling those involved in the project to leave their mark and obtain some recognition of their hard work throughout the long and complex project design and construction.
